Dear cultural and creative professionals,

We also attended the #BerlinIstKultur demonstration against budget cuts and are speechless about the disproportionate cuts to the cultural budget. Whether in theaters, museums, cinemas or clubs - Berlin's cultural diversity shapes the city's unique attitude to life. It is a magnet for international guests, a safe space and the heart of the city.

The cuts are jeopardizing the future of Berlin as a cultural capital. They target the very foundations of Berlin's cultural and creative professionals and their audiences and cause lasting damage to our city's cultural infrastructure. Many projects, organizations and programs committed to diversity, removing accessibility barriers, cultural education and participation, as well as other important interdisciplinary issues are affected. This has decisive consequences for social and democratic cohesion. What the budget cuts mean for Kulturprojekte Berlin and, consequently, for us, you can read here.

One demonstration leads to another: The bbk berlin and the network of independent Berlin project spaces and initiatives are organizing a demonstration tomorrow against the planned cuts to the cultural budget.

📌 When? 29th November 2024 | 15 h in front of the Neptune Fountain

An overview of additional dates and actions can be found on the channels of #BerlinIstKultur.

As a consultation center, we will continue to support Berlin's cultural and creative professionals with our services in the future. Here you can find our current events, updates from our Resource Center, and in the latest video from our "Ask an expert!" series, you’ll learn how the Berlin Studio Program can support you in your search for a workspace.

Together, we stand for a future in which art and culture are non-negotiable! 💛
