Dear cultural and creative professionals,

A new contribution to our Ask an expert! video series is online! From the basic components of a funding application to formulating your project idea - in short clips, funding consultant Jenny Engler-Petzold and cultural manager Katharina von Wilcke tell you what is important when applying for funding.

Our event page is now even more informative and better filterable! You'll find information about our event offerings in addition to the calendar, covering the topics cultural funding & application, self-employment & founding, legal & taxes and crowdfunding, snapshots of our events and FAQ.

Due to high demand, we are planning an event series on the topic of crowdfunding this year, where we aim to familiarize you with the principles of crowdfunding and examine them from various perspectives. It all starts on April 24th with Reality Check: Crowdfunding for your idea?! This format will take place four times in 2024 and will be complemented by two analog crowdfunding meetups. Additionally, in the second half of the year, we will offer a three-part workshop series on crowdfunding. You can find all dates and information gradually in our event calendar or soon on our website. Tax registration, small business regulations, and more: Tomorrow, 17th April, we will provide you with the basics of self-employment in our new seminar Creative & Self-employed: Basic Knowledge of Self-Employment. Secure one of the last spots now!

Mark your calendar! Our "Get started" event series enters its third round on July 11th. In cooperation with touring artists, we offer a series of online and offline events that are important for your start in self-employment in Berlin. More information will follow on our social media channels, website and here in the newsletter.

© Kulturprojekte Berlin | Film funding in Germany: an overview
What is important when applying for film funding and what will change as a result of the reform of the Film Funding Act? Our workshop "Film Funding Now - BKM Short Film Workshop" revolved around these questions.

Our speakers Anna de Paoli and Caroline Kirberg, who are producers themselves and teach at renowned film schools, led us step by step through the application process for production funding from the Federal Government Commissioner for Culture and the Media (BKM).
