Program description
With its project funding, inm supports Berlin's independent contemporary music scene and contributes to maintaining and strengthening Berlin as an international center of contemporary music. In total, the inm has around € 420,000 available annually from the Senate Department for Culture and Social Cohesion. Distribution is the responsibility of the jury, but the maximum funding amount of around €20,000 per project is only exceeded in exceptional cases.
Funding is provided for artistic and artistically mediating event projects by professional artists, curators and independent groups, including concerts with premieres and re-performances, smaller festivals, composition commissions, sound installations and sometimes mediation projects that focus on the artistic approach. Special attention is paid to the promotion of concerts and singular projects. The inm is aesthetically and structurally open and supports projects in the fields of new music, sound art and sound art, real-time music and improvisation, scenic concerts or concerts with a music-theatrical approach as well as electronic and electro-acoustic music.
International collaborations are possible and encouraged.
